Many owners of these older vehicles own only this one car because they cannot afford a newer one. They may be young, using the car for school or work and can't afford to be without it or to pay for a very expensive O.E.M. ECU. As a result, the repair facility will call salvage yards, other repair facilities and elsewhere to try and soften the financial blow to the customer. While this is going on the car is taking valuable space on your lot and many times has to be pushed around the lot as needs dictate. When an ECU is located it may not be the exact P/N, "It doesn't matter it'l work on that model", it may not have a warranty and the whole time it costs your customer to be without a car. It also leaves you pondering how to recover the personal time you have invested in this "project". Your business is a balancing act every day.
